News from Romania: The government has ended its state of emergency and things should begin to return to the “new normal”. Pro Vita has not had any Covid-19 cases as of last week. The beautiful new commercial stove for the central kitchen at Valea Screzii is ready but trapped in an Italian factory which has yet to re-open. The multiple sheltered growing environments are doing what they do best – sheltering vegetables for late Spring and Summer consumption.
We are so very grateful to all of you who answered our early May plea for donations. Special thanks go to Robert and Mary Ann who also welcomed a new granddaughter in mid-May, John and Mary Beth, Dibby who donated a big part of her CARES check, John and Terri, Steve and Amy, Wendell who has been a stalwart 3-time contributor in recent weeks, Leigh and Dennis, faithful long-time contributors, John and Evelyn whose daughter was a teen volunteer at Pro Vita several years ago, Mary and Hank, Jill, who volunteered there with us in 2012, and Tim, who also volunteered at Pro Vita. These generous friends of Pro Vita added almost $4000 to our coffers. The Board will match the first-time donors with another $1650.00. Our U.S. financial support to Pro Vita during these challenging times means so much to Mihail and Melanie and all the beneficiaries.
