Just a quick update. The Board thanks two new donors — Donnie & Susan for their very generous donation (which triggered a 2 for 1$ match from the AFPVO Board) and a smaller donation from a student at SSSAS which also triggered the 2 for 1$ match. We also received an additional (and very welcome) donation from our supporters at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church in Falls Church, VA. Easter is still several weeks away. For those of you still looking for a meaningful Lenten observance, we recommend a donation to AFPVO — the Board will continue its 2 for 1$ match for all new donors.
Fr. Sean and his SSSAS students just returned from the Spring Service Break at Pro Vita. They stayed at the new Teen House in Valenii de Munte and were very impressed with the building and its occupants. A big thank-you to all of you whose contributions made the building and better lifestyle possible. We will be sharing the SSSAS team’s news and observations in the next Newsletter.
Fr. Sean has also made contact with the Romanian Embassy in D.C., and we will be meeting with their representative very soon. Fr. Sean was able to arrange for two members of the U.S. Embassy staff in Bucharest to visit Pro Vita while he was there. We are hopeful that this initial connection will strengthen over time.
Spring is slowly arriving in Romania, and we look forward to Pro Vita resuming the building activities associated with the social enterprise “factories” in Valenii de Munte.
