November 2016 – Giving Tuesday

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend to all our Pro Vita supporters!

We hope you enjoyed a peaceful meal with family and friends on Thursday and were successful in your Black Friday pursuits.  As an antidote to politics, shopping and leftover pumpkin pie, this Tuesday is designated as Giving Tuesday, an opportunity to start the official holiday frenzy with a donation to a favorite charity in the spirit of Christmas or whatever winter holiday you choose to celebrate.  AFPVO sincerely hopes that Pro Vita Orphanage is on your list of deserving organizations.

Many thanks to our generous donors who have already helped us raise over $6000 towards our goal of the additional $25,000 needed to build the additional factory spaces for the sewing and metal fabrication enterprises.  The dormitory for the high school students in Valenii de Munte is completed and occupied, four more women have joined the sewing enterprise, and we are all excited to proceed with our “Economic Trampoline” project, creating training opportunities for older teens and adults to become economically self-sufficient.

AFPVO has largely been sustained by a small number of significant contributors.  Now we encourage all of you to consider making a donation and joining our Giving Circle.  If each of you become first time donors with checks for $10-15.00 (although larger sums are always welcome), we could get a lot closer to our project’s financial goal. If you choose to use PayPal, please remember that PayPal deducts 2.5% of your donation for their expenses.  Checks made out to AFPVO and mailed to: 10005 Donal Lane, Vienna, VA 22181 are the most economical way to support Pro Vita.

Remember — 100% of your donation goes directly to Pro Vita  and is 100% tax-deductible.  The AFPVO Board continues to cover all administrative expenses. Please show your support for Pro Vita and its 500+ residents on Giving Tuesday.

Many thanks

The AFPVO Board (Donna, Frank, Fr. Sean, and John)
