Tuesday, November 28 is officially GIVING TUESDAY. The AFPVO Board encourages all of you to consider making a donation on Tuesday or any day through the end of 2017 — it’s 100% tax-deductible! Recent generous donors like Narcis and Adela, Terry and Terry, Jennifer, Timothy and Michael, and Ben and Karen have set the bar for the rest of our loyal supporters. As an incentive, all donations received between now and December 31, 2017 will be matched by Board members on a dollar for dollar basis (up to $3000). As a further incentive, first-time donors will have their gifts matched on a 2 for 1 basis (up to an additional $3000) by the Board. We still need at least another $6000 to reach our goal of fully funding the “Economic Trampoline” project to build two small factories in Valenii de Munte and create paths to economic independence. In parallel, the Tanases are pursuing European Union grants for the equipment needed to outfit the metal fabrication enterprise and expand the sewing enterprise. The children are busy making Christmas ornaments for sale — a popular annual fund-raiser.
The updated AFPVO website will launch in the next few weeks — new look, lots of new pictures. Our thanks to our site designer and implementer, Taylor Jensen, who has done a terrific job.
Planning is underway for Fr. Sean’s visit to Pro Vita in March 2018. He will accompany a group of students from St. Stephen and St. Agnes School (SSSAS) for their annual Spring Service Week there.
Wishing everyone a happy holiday season. Please keep the 500 residents of Pro Vita in Valea Screzii, Valea Plopului, and Valenii de Munte in your thoughts, prayers, and charitable giving plans this season.
Donna, Frank, and Fr. Sean
