Just a quick note to let you know that Pro Vita is actively helping Ukrainians during this horrible war. They are accepting refugees as available space allows. 78 children arrived last night and more are due today and in future days. The children are being evacuated from the Odessa region and are unaccompanied as the Russians are not allowing adults to leave Ukraine. They are being evacuated by the Romanian military, by helicopter. The Tanases have ordered 40 more bunk beds to accommodate these children and 3 Ukrainian-speaking families plus other Ukrainian speakers are coming today to help with translating, etc.
Earlier attempts to send food into Ukraine failed as there is no humanitarian corridor to ensure safe passage of the food trucks.
This is NOT a plea for donations — we have money ready to send whenever Pro Vita needs it. Right now, they are using the Christmas donation funds to absorb the extra costs.
Please support your local efforts to help Ukraine. World Central Kitchen (wck.org) is doing a terrific job, feeding those who make it across the borders.
